I swear, these guys are just looking for any excuse to fine me.
I own 4 units. I pay $137 per month per unit. Every month I send them a check for $548.00.
So guess what they did. They credited the entire amount to one unit. Now that unit is paid up for 4 months, and the other 3 units are late. They charged me $25 late fee on each one. So I did nothing wrong, I paid everything on time, and I still owe them $75.
I hate these guys so much.

Unbelievable!
You need to walk right in to them face-to-face and make them credit the $548 to each of your four units! And do not leave until you have receipts for each of your four units!
Please? Let me accompany you? I will take photos of the entire incident, making a web page of this incident, sending e-mail to Darcy Spears and one to Channel 13 News!

Hi, Sam,
You are so sweet. My big handsome husband already handled it. He got a copy of the canceled check, which clearly shows all 4 addresses in the memo field, and sent them a sternly worded letter. Hopefully they will fix it.
Anyway I have bigger battles to fight. I wrote those guys a check last month for $825 for the bogus kitty-cat fines. Now I want to take them to compliance because they assessed the fine at a secret hearing and never notified me until 8 weeks of fines had accumulated.
So I think I need to take this case to compliance. I'll keep you posted on progress. Maybe Jonathan can help.

Ok, they want to wear the unit owner down. It is a ridiculous situation and they will blame the Unit Owner every time. It is a racket. Can we get everyone who is upset to the Sawyer Building? Will you testify before the Legislators. The CAI (lawyers) and Management Companies are all present during the legislative session. They tell the Legislators - OH, they are just disgruntled, they are just a few. Everyone loves the HOA.

Hi, Bob,
I can go to the Sawyer building. I have a flexible schedule but I do need to work most days. So I can't go too often, but I'd like to go on a day when it will really make a difference.
Tell me when and where, and I'll be there if I can.

It seems like our movement is picking up momentum! A year ago, I felt so all alone, and now I see lots of us in the same boat, and I have hope for us!

To Diana and Bob and Sam; I have been following the comments in this thread, and I am encouraged to see that Diana is willing to appear at the Sawyer Building and testify. Way to go Diana --- I’ll be there to. I’m 77 years old and currently I’m being persecuted by my Board of Directors, and by the Community Manager where I live only because I complained against them. The system that is supposed to protect the homeowner who lives in an "Association" is a joke. It has been corrupted to the point that our constitutional rights of "Due Process" are a thing of the past. There is no such thing as "Innocent until proven guilty" is concerned. We need to show the legislators that "We’re mad as Hell, and we’re not going to take it anymore" |
