Absolutely unbelievable!!!

Truth is definitely stranger than fiction.  Where do these kind of people come from?  Do they start out this way at birth or is it a matter of environment?

I know, it's unbelievable, isn't it? I feel like I am being held up by highway men!

It looks like they have allocated a huge part of their budget to collecting fees this year, and they want me to contribute. I recently received a 2nd notice on an oil stain in a driveway, even though I cleaned it up real thoroughly with this stuff:

The stuff works good. The oil is all cleaned up. They don't care about that. They just want the money.

Diana:

We are dealing with institutionalized corruption.  In my opinion, the system was set up by Community Associations Institute (CAI) for the benefit of everyone but the homeowner.  Still find it amazing that so many of us had come to this conclusion independently.

They are over playing their hand.  The pendulum will swing against them.

I know that Sam was a little disappointed when I shared my political and religious beliefs with him but a better way to look at this is that things have gotten so bad that the masses (homeowners) are waking up and putting aside petty political differences.

The only way to defeat corruption of this magnitude is to educate the public and stick together.  HOA Advocates is doing an excellent job of both.

Yeah, over-playing their hand, but what can you do? It just makes me sick sometimes. I think it's going to be a long time before we are able to change anything.

I have another pending complaint. Apparently there is a water softener outside one of my units. It has been there since before I bought the property. It's probably been there for 10 years. It's not bothering anybody. But now they say I have to build a building around it. I'm supposed to build a building around a water softener? How the heck am I supposed to do that?

And if I don't do it, I am going to get fined according to the new fine schedule. It's just such a racket.
